From a garage to the only club in town
Chester River Grappling Club was founded by Dave Packie and Jacob Kirwan in the fall of 2023. What started as a small group training in a garage has grown into the only jiu-jitsu and grappling club in Chestertown, Maryland.
Dave and Jacob bring two distinctly different backgrounds in combat sports — wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and mixed martial arts — so there's something here for everyone. The only requirement is to show up and have fun.
Since opening, CRGC has grown into a full club, with members winning state and national titles in both wrestling and jiu-jitsu. We currently run classes six days a week, with plenty of open mat time to learn, grow, and roll.
